The Small Intestine, known as the Separator of Pure from Impure, is one of the Twelve Officials and, paired with the Heart belongs to the Fire Element.

The Small Intestine Official discriminates at a body, mind and spirit level, and separates goodness from impurities. By taking in everything from the body, mind, and spirit, this Official feeds back pure chi, especially to the Supreme Controller. The Small Intestine is like a personal assistant, inspecting everything and only passing on matters worthy of consideration, and providing another layer of protection, to the Supreme Controller.

The purity extracted by the Small Intestine sustains all the Officials; the rest is passed on to the Colon for disposal, ensuring the nourishment remaining is unencumbered by rubbish.

Ensure you are not taking in a lot of rubbish, be discerning about what you take in, from food to ideas and thoughts. Mentally focus on positive thinking. This Official is very important for the spirit by helping distinguish between good and evil.
