The Orator

The Orator is responsible for everything we say. The words may be formed elsewhere; they may be inspired by others, by our emotions, our experiences, or a future vision. The Orator is the postman of our verbal information and intentions, delivering our words to the outside world. Once they have left our mouth, they are out of our control, unlike a letter that can remain unopened, we cannot return the words to the sender.

We can choose the tone of the words, the spaces between, the content, the accent, and, of course, the words themselves. If we allow the Orator the time and space to help us, we can have a powerful ally to help us speak our truth effectively. Many words have been spoken without attention to the Orator. Wars have been caused, families torn apart, and relationships cut to shreds on a whim. On the other hand, speeches have become embedded as inspiration in our history, and sweethearts have been won over.

Look at the words you use. Are you saying too much? Or too little? Is it time to speak up or shut up? How can you articulate your message so you look back at it with pleasure? Make sure that the Orator is connected to other team members and the heart, the throat, and the mind.
