Windermere

Key word: Expansion

Lora Starling Norway Ice coaster

The surface was dark to touch. When disturbed, whether by the wind, a boat, hand or duck, the horizontal ripples communicate our presence and affect everything they touch. This visible disturbance may indicate a two dimensional, horizontal reaction but the reflections tell a different story. The air above also responds to the moving shapes and the depths below are exposed to a new, fractured image of the world above. The surrounding hills reflect in the water surface as if repeating themselves in the depths. As above so below.

Whether we meet the mountains and clouds through their reflections, visually extending below the water or rise to meet them in the air, the surface holds the centre point of both dimensions.

When we look beyond, the surface, we change our perspective, and the same story is revealed to be different.

By expanding our attention beyond the familiar ‘known’, we can connect with a world to a much larger, apparently infinite, whole. From this point we increase our ability, and consciousness, to create the change that really makes a difference.
