River Carron

The layers of rock strata forming the bed of this river have shifted to tilt towards the sky rather than lay horizontally beneath the water surface. The river has to twist and jump around and over these firmly embedded rocks with their peaks emerging from the water.

As the river moves and tumbles it forms sparkling golden streams of liquid earthy champagne as if celebrating the obstructions, which fail to distract. The rocks take on a golden, warm reddish glow from the sparkling water that streams past the rocky protuberances as if both enjoy the challenge. On one hand the rocks disturb the smooth flow of the river, on the other hand they create interest, excitement and an altogether richer and more enjoyable journey.

The salmon regularly make their way upstream against the current, as if the joy of getting to the source is greater than the resistance of the flow.

This river is about allowing joy, the god within and the golden light to flow into our lives despite whatever obstacles confront us. More that this, it enables us to see these obstacles as gifts that enhance our journey rather than blockages that stop us in our life path.
