World Trade Centre

This human designed place, built to remind us of the tragedy of the New York twin towers, and the lives that were lost, is inevitably a repository for many emotions. The space of the deep waterfalls, designed to match the ground space of the buildings, could not fully express the grief but it did provoke the memories we experienced.
As the water plunged into the deep, dark, square hole, pumped up again to be recycled over and over, many droplets, sparkles full of light, escaped to fleetingly ‘touch’ visitors, on their bare skin, as a gentle reminder we can create different if we allow it. Curiously, when I touched the water, I felt a dryness and a sense that not all is what it seems, there is a different reality we can build on.

I sensed feelings of empathy and compassion in the water, coupled with a deep desire to somehow ensure this was never repeated with the fuel of anger and bitterness that enable the cycle. This monument offers light to dark places and truth to light.

The water offers us the opportunity to escape cycles that trap us and to co-create a different result with Father Sun bringing light via the water droplets that bring us a new truth. When we dive to the depths, the dark, we can gather what can be brought into the light and stop the cycle of destruction.
