The Water Element

One of the Five Elements, Water is associated with the colour blue, the season winter, and the emotion fear. The two Officials associated with Water are the Kidneys and the Bladder. Water is flexible and fluid and takes the shape of the container surrounding it. With the potential to find a path around any obstruction, Water washes away impurities and blockages within us at a body, mind, and spirit level. When our Water Element is balanced, our lives flow, movement and change happen easily, new ideas or dreams can grow like the seed that is watered, and the debris of past failures are washed away to clear the future path.

When the Water Element is out of balance, we could feel frozen to the spot, steamed up over some minor issue, or clogged up and stuck.

The Water Element asks you to pay attention to your reserves. Are there enough to sustain you, and are they clear and pure in your body, mind, and spirit? Do your emotions flow with ease, or do they lurk in the murky depths of the reservoirs of your mind? At a physical level, you may need to drink more water, take a long shower, or swim to reconnect. Mentally, you can look at where you may be emotionally stuck, and spiritually you can challenge the ease, flow and purity of your connections.
