The Colon Official
The Colon is one of the Twelve Officials and belongs to the Metal Element along with the Lung Official. The Colon is responsible for getting rid of all the rubbish from our mind, body, and spirit and is sometimes also known as the Great Eliminator.
We naturally collect unwanted rubbish in our everyday lives, from digested or undigested food, thoughts, or emotions, and these will clog up the smooth running of our whole system unless the Great Eliminator clears it out.
When the mind becomes filled with rubbish, useless information makes it difficult for it to find rest, to concentrate, and to remember things. Spiritually, we cannot perceive what is unique and special about ourselves if our perception is smothered by toxic thoughts and negativity.
When this Official comes into our lives, we have to ask ourselves the question, ‘Where are we hanging onto our shit?’
Physically, we may be constipated, but our words, actions, and thoughts may also be full of unwanted rubbish. What is it that we are holding onto that no longer serves us? Why are we holding onto it? How can we let it go to allow the natural flow of new energy into our mind, body and spirit to nourish us, enabling us to progress with fully living our lives?
